BetMGM Poker Review: A Three-State Pool That Is No Longer Small
BetMGM Poker is the partypoker US Network flagship, now pooled across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan. We checked the app, formats and how it compares with WSOP Online.

Best forBetMGM account holders in NJ, MI or PA who like fast cash games
The usual complaint about BetMGM Poker is that it is the smaller room, the place you go when WSOP Online has too many sharks. That framing hides what actually changed: since the New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania pools merged, the smaller room is no longer small in the way that hurts.
We looked at what the network is, what the app shows and where the evidence runs out. Poker involves skill, but rake and variance are real costs, and gambling is entertainment with a house take built in, never income.
One network, three skins
BetMGM Poker is the flagship of the partypoker US Network, and Borgata Poker and partypoker are sister skins on the same software. Trade reporting says the pool is shared across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan. The Michigan Gaming Control Board announced on 8 November 2024 that BetMGM was authorised to enable shared liquidity between Michigan and New Jersey, and Pennsylvania followed.
That matters because poker traffic is the product. A lonely lobby has no cash games at your stakes and tournaments that never fill. Per one cited report, the network's New Jersey skins led that state's poker revenue even before the pools merged, and stakes run from NL2 ($0.01/$0.02) to NL2000 ($10/$20).

What the app listing shows
The New Jersey listing is published by ROAR Digital, BetMGM's operating company. It shows a 4.20 average from 1,801 ratings and version 8.7.8, updated on 30 September 2026. That is a lower rating than WSOP's Michigan app and well below the best casino apps, though poker apps attract unhappy losers who blame the software, so we read it as acceptable rather than poor.
Its description is a warning in a different way. It still promises Vegas iReward points, a loyalty name that looks dated next to today's BetMGM branding. Stale copy is not a rule violation, but it suggests nobody has sanded the listing in years.
Formats worth the download
Fast Forward, where you fold and are instantly moved to a fresh hand, is the format the listing pushes. It multiplies hands per hour, which is great for volume players and a trap for anyone who loses patience as they lose chips. Spins jackpots are the lottery-style sit and go, with prize pools that look generous in the slide art.

The tournament lobby is a plain list with buy-ins, start times and registering counts, and it is the more useful screen for planning a night.

Promotions and the wheel
Daily promotions are advertised with a Spin the Wheel feature on the listing. Treat any reward wheel as a nudge to play, not a gift. We did not find a published, verifiable rake schedule for the network while researching, so we cannot give you a percentage, and we would not trust one from an affiliate page. Open the rake table in the lobby for your stakes before you buy in.

Who gets the most from it
Skill matters here, but only over thousands of hands, so judge your results across months rather than sessions.
A casual player with one evening a week will meet the same obstacles anywhere: players who study, rake that never sleeps, and a bankroll that shrinks faster than the app suggests. What BetMGM adds is convenience. One login covers poker, casino and sports, and one cashier moves money between them, which is handy and also the reason to set a firm weekly cap. Moving a balance from a lost poker session to a casino slot in two taps is how a small loss becomes a large one.
BetMGM Poker or WSOP Online?
The honest comparison is not "big room against small room". WSOP Online has Nevada in its pool, official bracelet events and a stronger brand. BetMGM has a three-state pool tied to a sportsbook and casino account many Americans already hold. We found no 2026 traffic counts from an independent tracker, so any claim that one has clearly more players than the other is a guess.
Pick WSOP if bracelets matter to you. Pick BetMGM if you already have a BetMGM wallet, play in New Jersey, Michigan or Pennsylvania, and want cash games and Fast Forward alongside your other products.

Our verdict
BetMGM Poker anchors the partypoker US Network, with a shared player pool across New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan, stakes from NL2 to NL2000 and Fast Forward cash games. The app scores 4.20 and its listing text looks dated. We found no verifiable rake schedule or 2026 traffic count, so it is a solid but unproven rival to WSOP Online.
